Introduced for the war – now abolished because of the crisis: the person for duty -free grain sports from Ukraine was decided in Brussels. Especially the Austrian farmers can now breathe in a sigh of relief shortly before harvesting.
In order to become a distortion of competition for farmers throughout Europe, our farmers in the “Kroon” do not have to expand the EU-wide exemption from customs for the import of Ukraine. A background: Since the war-free opening of the EU markets in 2022, the Ukrainian agricultural import has literally exploded. Domestic farmers could not keep up. But it is now clear: the farmers have found hearing. Food input is delayed – a bang with a signal effect. From now on, agricultural products from Ukraine are limited by higher rates and limited quotas.
A first, important phase victory, the EU mandate Alexander Bernhuber and the director Paul Nemecek of the Austria-Bundersbund bundles in the Austria bundles, pleased: “Especially before the new harvest, this is an important signal for our inland agriculture and therefore also for the safety of care!”
But the fight is not over yet. The import of cage eggs in Austria recently caused indignation – although their production has long been forbidden here. “Now the EU must finally prevent the import of food that does not match our high standards,” says two agricultural politicians. EU agricultural Commissioner Christophe Hansen sees it very the same way and could become a political ass in Brussels.
