“Good Conversation” – Trump call with Putin: “Not immediately peace”

Date:

US President Donald Trump sees no chance of a quick solution in the Ukraine war after a new phone call with Kremlin -Baas Vladimir Putin. “It was a good conversation, but no conversation that will lead to immediate peace,” Trump wrote on the social platform of De Waarheid on Wednesday.

The conversation took about an hour and 15 minutes, Trump reported. It was about the latest attacks of Ukraine on military planes in the Russian hinterland and other attacks on both sides. Putin “said very clearly” that he had to respond to the attacks of Ukraine.

Iran was also a problem
According to Trump, Iran was another subject in the phone call. The US president accused Tehran of delaying negotiations on a new nuclear agreement. “In my opinion, Iran has delayed his decision about this very important issue and we will need a definitive answer in a very short time,” said the US President. As far as Iran is concerned, he and Putin agree, Trump said. Iran should not have nuclear weapons. The Kremlin boss had suggested to participate in the conversations with Iran.

In mid -April, the United States and Iran had discussed the discussions about a possible new agreement. The first five negotiation rounds remained without results. Trump has held a new agreement since his return to the White House – and Iran threatens in the case of not talking about a military approach.

Putin: “Kyiv does not want peace”
Putin had already openly questioned the meaning of peace talks with Ukraine on Wednesday. The Ukrainian attacks on two bridges in Russia were clearly directed against the civilian population, and the evidence that the government in Kiev “rejects a terrorist organization and becoming its sponsors of terrorists”. Apparently “the current regime in Kiev does not need peace at all,” said Putin.

“Crimes against civilians”
“Of course, all the crimes committed on the eve of another peace in Istanbul to citizens, including women and children, were of course aimed at thwarting the negotiation process,” said Putin Wednesday. “The attack was a targeted blow to the civilian population,” said Putin. It is “natural terrorist actions”. In one of the attacks on Bruggen, a train was derailed at the weekend, seven people were killed.

Russian researchers said that the Ukraine on Saturday blown up a highway bridge over a railway line, just then a passenger train with 388 people on board. Ukraine officially did not comment on the incidents. The attacks took place shortly before the peace talks in Turkey on Monday.

“What should you talk about? How can we negotiate with those who trust terror?” Said Putin. Each stakes -furen would only be used to provide Ukraine with Western weapons. Ukraine did not comment on the branches, but referred to the fact that Russia had fired a record number of drones on Ukraine on Monday evening. Several people died. The Russian president did not mention the daily Russian drone and rocket attacks on Ukraine in 2022 during the meetings with high -ranking officials in Russian television.

However, the vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitri Medleedew, had almost excluded from Ukraine one day after the direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. “The Istanbul interviews are not about making a compromise peace about the insane circumstances of another, but about guaranteeing our rapid victory and the complete destruction of the neo-Nazi regime,” wrote President Putin’s confidant in the short message service Telegram.

Lavrov: “Gross errors of the regime in Kiev”
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrow meanwhile said that Ukraine had rejected a Russian proposal for a two to three-day, sometimes strike-fires to save corpses. “I think this is just a gross mistake in Kiev,” Lawrow told Putin during a briefing on TV during television about the results of the conversations on Monday in Istanbul.

The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Senskyj, in turn, stated Putin’s statements that Ukraine does not want peace. “My proposal that our partners can support in my opinion is to offer the Russians a ceasefire -the Fire to the Meeting of the heads of state and the government,” said Senskyj.

The prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kyiv is up
According to both parties, Russia and Ukraine could start an agreed major exchange of prisoners during the weekend. In Moscow, the Russian main negotiator Vladimir Medinski called President Putin Data 7th until 9 June, as the Tass Tass press agency reported. In Kyiv, President Senskyj generally spoke from the coming weekend. The first step is about the return of 500 prisoners each.

In direct conversations in Istanbul on Monday, both parties had agreed to exchange seriously injured or sick prisoners of war between the ages of 18 and 25. This can affect more than 1000 people from each side. Moreover, thousands of corpses of killed soldiers must be returned. Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than three years.
