The Spö-related retired Association (PVö) responded sharply on Thursday to the question of the Industrial Association President Georg Knill to increase retirement age to 70 years. The Interim -Pvö -President Helmut Bieler accused Knill of making his statements “Pure Polemics” and creating uncertainty.
Knill had explained several question on Wednesday in the ORF program “ZIB 2”: “We are welcome to go to 70.” As a model he referred to Denmark, where a corresponding regulation in consensus had recently been decided.
System is currently not secure?
“Why would it be different in Austria,” said the IV president. He called for an “honest discussion” about the pension system and criticized that the system was currently being canceled that the system was not protected.
Scharf counterattack of the pensioners
The retired association now prevented concrete figures about the labor market situation of older employees. Bieler emphasized that people over 50 are the most affected group that is affected by long -term unemployment. Nationally, a third of the long -term acting older than 50 years old, a quarter older than 55. He mentioned the “Anti -Lijfttiekhentie van de Economy” as the main reason.
Pensioners: many want to work, but can’t do that
Instead of increasing the age of retirement, the PVö asks for more jobs for people older than 50 and measures so that people can stay healthy in working life for longer. The assumption that older employees do not want to work is wrong – rather the accompanying jobs were missing.
The retired association has been calling for years to be a bonus malus system that rewards companies that employ older employees, and those who are early retirement or push older employees from the company.
