The president of the Canarian coalition has assured that it would be “a gesture and proof of this change that is taking place and of a multiple representation that the ballot boxes have produced”.
The President of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC), Fernando Clavijo, has chosen the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) to chair the Table of the Congress of Deputies that will be assembled next week.
The also president of the Canary Islands has indicated this in an interview with The vanguard in which he has insisted that he would think it “great” that a nationalist could preside over Congress for the first time. “And there our clear commitment is the PNV,” he said.
“It would be a gesture and proof of this change that is taking place and of a plural representation that the ballot boxes have produced,” he added.
Clavijo has indicated that it would also be a “good symptom” of understanding so that autonomous communities such as the Canary Islands can be understood.
