Further support for Alexander Van der Bellen for the presidential elections next Sunday. (Yet) Governor Günther Platter made no secret in a Facebook post on Sunday that he will support the incumbent president, who grew up in Tyrol. Van der Bellen is a “Kaunertaler with handshake quality”.
“It’s no secret that I’m excited about his return,” Platter said. Van der Bellen has guided the Republic of Austria through a very difficult time in recent years with a steady hand, a cautious voice and the right words.
“He has built a reputation as an impartial, internationally respected president who is recognized in Austria. He has always remained himself – a Kaunertaler with handshake quality, enthusiasm for the mountains and the necessary inner peace,” continues Platter.
Support also from minister
Schützenhilfe also came from the ÖVP government team on Sunday. Constitutional Minister Karoline Edtstadler expressed her support for the incumbent in the ORF “Pressure”. Van der Bellen stands for the continuity that is now needed, she says.
