Trace of the Money – Benko: Hungerburg -Villa in the sights of the researchers

Date:

New details about another luxury real estate in Innsbruck: Shortly before the bankruptcy, René Benko made a rental payment for three years. The villa was not habitable at all for the time being. The “Kroon” knows the final report of Soko.

Another suspicious financial transaction from the René Benko area has attracted the attention of the Soko Signa. Step by step, the researchers now reconstruct the background of a home on Innsbruck Hungerburg.

The building had served the Benkos as a family home as a move to the 86 million villa to Innsbruck -Ils at the end of 2021. Until 2023 it lived in Markus M., a long confidant and best man by René Benko -with a panoramic representation of the inn valley.

Wine cellar rented from Signa
A remarkable detail: the Villa Wijnkelder was rented by a Benko company for Signa Holding. According to a lease, around 2000 euros were paid between 2010 and 2021 – exclusively for representative purposes such as events or business invitations. The Van Benko family will now live in the villa again. The host is currently housed in the correction facility of Vienna Josefstadt.

A current final report from the Federal Criminal Police Office, which is available for the “Krone” and “News”, brings new allegations. It says: René Benko is suspected of participating in parts of his assets or actually reducing it or to appear alone. With the possible goal of thwarting or reducing the satisfaction of his creditors.

The so -driven “satisfaction fund” includes the assets from which creditors are served in the event of bankruptcy. The researchers suspect that Benko’s transactions could have reduced the available funds for these creditors.

Slope and water damage
In the center of the study there is an unusually high rental payment: on October 6, 2023, only a few weeks before the collapse of the Signa group, Benko 360,000 euros were transferred to RB Immobilienverwaltungs GmbH & Co KG, which works as the owner of the Villa in Hungerburg. In addition, there were at least 175.175.96 euros for operating costs, furniture and equipment.

Explosive: According to researchers, the villa was currently uninhabitable: a slope had led to water damage. The criminalists determine: “So the question remains why a rental advance and the payment of the operating costs were just made in those months in which the residential building apparently was not habitable anyway.”

Striking streams
The course of the transfer of money also causes a specialty. On October 5, 2023, only one day before the rent, Benko received 500,000 euros from the Laura Private Foundation. The next day he sent 360,000 euros to RB Immobilienverwaltungs GmbH & Co KG. Shortly thereafter, another 340,000 euros flowed to the same company. From there, in turn, 300,000 euros were rejected to the Laura Private Foundation.

The report states: “The transaction course suggested that a large part of the payment of the rental output eventually returned to the Laura Private Foundation.”
