Because family members and neighbors could not find a 79-year-old on their farm in Fischbach (Weiz District) on Sunday evening, they raised an alarm. What was feared by them, unfortunately, became a sad certainty: the Styrian had fallen into the manure well. There was no rescue anymore.
On Sunday evening the police were called to an agricultural property in Fischbach. They had warned family members and neighbors because they missed a 79-year-old. The Eastern Steirer worked in the garden and suddenly disappeared.
Around 8:50 PM, the family then noted that a shaft of a former wear was covered with wooden planks in the area of the garden.
All help came too late
The Fischbach Volunteer Fire Brigade immediately started pumping the well. When the woman was finally restored, the emergency doctor of the Rescue helicopter C16 was unfortunately only able to determine her death.
According to the first surveys of the police, the 79-year-old may have stepped on a rotten plate during her gardening that covered the shaft. The family members are provided by a crisis intervention team.
