According to research by “Bild”, the channel was still untouched on Wednesday morning. A different picture emerged on Thursday morning: the lid was no longer completely closed – so it was probably not a routine check. The Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office and police simply told the newspaper that the case of the missing teenagers was still under investigation and that no further information could be provided at this time.
Witness remembers
The witness at the time remembered this (see video above). She saw a raspberry-colored Renault Twingo in the affected nature reserve. The main suspect in the case, Rebecca’s brother-in-law, drove it. According to other witnesses, the brother-in-law’s mother also went to the drain. However, she denies having been there.
Brother-in-law suspected of murder
Rebecca was reported missing on July 18, 2019, after failing to show up at school and not coming home after class. A few days later, a murder squad took over the investigation.
She assumes that the teenager was murdered by her brother-in-law and that he buried or burned her body. However, there is no evidence of this and no body has been found to date. Rebecca stayed with her brother-in-law and sister on the night of July 18, 2019.
