Meeting of the city council – Mayor wants to “keep Vienna on course”

Date:

In addition to programmatic speeches, the first meeting of the new city council also offered exciting voices about the new Government team of Vienna – and inherent criticism of the opposition on the Government Program of Spö and Neos.

Now the new Veen legislative period has really begun: in the compiling state and municipal council meeting on Tuesday, all Mandatars and the city council were praised as mayor Michael Ludwig (Spö). He was confirmed with 69 votes. This means that, apart from 43 Spö and ten Neos MPs, at least 16 representatives of the opposition have elected him.

Voice is apparent from “Hitparade” of the municipal councilors
There were significant differences in the approval of the Ludwig team: Vice -mayor of Woningrolder Kathrin Gaál was at the top with 90 votes. Ex Aequo followed vice-mayor Bettina Emmerling and cultural municipal councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler (66 votes each), City Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky (65 votes) and infrastructure Ulli Sima (62 votes). Social municipal councilor Peter Hacker received 60 votes. The bottom of the finances was a municipal councilor Barbara Novak with 58 votes, which apparently still touches skepticism as a new addition.

In general, a lot was chosen in this session: dozens of positions had to be fulfilled more than four hours from seats to committees. The ditches between the political groups were already clearer: most FPö representatives were mainly chosen with the help of the ÖVP, while the liberties were reversed in almost all coordinations and, for example, the Green Jennifer Kickert held the unanimous election as the fourth chairman of the city council.

Ludwig and Emmerling strive for optimism
In his explanation to take the government, Ludwig concentrated on the “revival”, which he has set the goal with the Neos for the next five years. It is now a matter of “start” to “keep Vienna on course”. For example, he referred to the plans for an AI data center or promised a vacancy database for commercial properties. According to her department, Emmerling focused on education: she insisted on “non -negotiable values” and emphasized: “The common language German is the most important subject currently in the field of education.” At the same time, she insisted: “Everything can be criticized: Vienna is a city that is envied worldwide.”

Opposition lacks concrete and ambition
Representatives of FPö, Greens and ÖVP were agreed in the first meeting of the new city council, apart from all the political differences: the beginning of the new city council and their plans are “faintly, love -free, drively” (FPö chairman Dominik Nepp), “unsponciled, sponge,” superficial and amitieziezieus and Övps and and amitiezieus and and and amitious, and and Övps and “superfers and” superfsy and Övps and “. and “Blass and Almost” (ÖV Pühringer).

Pühringer wondered: “Will the worries of the Viennese be really relieved?”, Although it is already certain for decorative foot: “With this coalition” with Vienna are going. In the government plans of the “Downsizing Coalition” NPP also saw only “declarations of intent, which there is nothing behind it” and said, “If the power is, or goodnight”. He promised Spö and Neos “uncomfortable five years”.
