The ambassador of Israel in Vienna, David Roet, explains in an interview with Krone.tv Infoefent Katia Wagner that the attack on Iran was a prevention attack. “Iran has the clear program to destroy the state of Israel. At a certain point we had to act,” said Roet. And further: “I find it shocking that in 2025 there is a country that openly evokes the destruction of another country and has an operational strategy to implement this”. Iran is hoped to be able to eliminate the military skills of both the nuclear and conventional.
“We reserve the right to respond determined”
The Iranian ambassador Assadollah Eshragh Jahromi denies that nuclear enrichment can also be used for military purposes. Iran meets the obligations of important nuclear agreements and would only use its nuclear systems peacefully. And further: “We have the legitimate right to enrich”. Israel started the current escalation. And further: “We cannot stand and see how aggressors act against our people and our country. We reserve the right to respond determined.”
“Maybe the next Austria will be in the sights of Iran”
Ambassador Roet sees a threat in this enrichment: “Iran has nuclear capacities. Who knows who you then focus on – perhaps Austria, perhaps Europe”. The world must now act. When asked whether this procedure did not prevent current conversations about a nuclear agreement, he replies: “To say it in the football language: we were in the 90th minute. There was no time anymore”.
Is there now an escalation with the US?
The Iranian ambassador now wants to wait for the decisions of the rank -high representatives of his country or the dialogue around a possible nuclear agreement is being accepted. The question of whether a new escalation could happen with the United States, he answers briefly: “No comment”.
