“Dangerous moment” – Chaos threatens: Iran praises conversations with Europeans

Date:

The most important diplomats in Germany, France and Great Britain advised almost four hours in Geneva with their Iranian colleague Abbas Araqchi on a steering wheel in the nuclear conflict. A courtesy of Iran arose.

The British Foreign Minister David Lammy appealed to Iran to continue to negotiate with the United States about limiting the nuclear program. “We (…) ask Iran urgently to continue his conversations with the United States,” said Lammy after the conversations in Geneva.

“This is a dangerous moment and it is extremely important that we do not experience a regional escalation of this conflict,” he added. The German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul then spoke about “serious conversations”. Iran is ready to keep talking about all basic questions, says Wadephul. It is especially important for Germany that the safety interests of Israel were preserved. Moreover, the United States must be involved in further negotiations, Wadephul said.

Araqchi said his country was ready to continue to trust diplomacy. Another meeting in the near future is possible. The discussions on Friday were serious and formed by respect. However, he emphasized: “As long as the attacks on Israel continue, we will not negotiate with a party.” Jean-Noël Barrot (France) and EU-Buitenlandse representative Kaja Kallas also participated in the conversations in a hotel.

Tehran makes Israel serious accusations
Araqchi called the Israeli attacks on nuclear systems in Iran when he arrived serious war crimes: “This nation is exposed to shameful aggression.” However, Iran was determined to defend his territorial integrity and sovereignty with all its power. The attack of Israel was a betrayal of diplomacy, he added the Iranian nuclear program with a view to further negotiations with the United States.

Araqchi called on the international community in the UN -Human Rights Council, which is based in Geneva, to condemn the attacks of Israel in his country. “Any justification of this unjust and criminal war would be a complicity,” said the minister shortly before the planned meeting with the open -air ministers of Germany, France and Great -Britain and the EU outside country officer. He wanted to remind every member of the Commission of his responsibility “to absorb this serious injustice”.

Araqchi Israel has also completed war crimes and crimes against humanity with regard to the war in Gaza. The UN human rights council is currently holding its summer session of a few weeks.

Guterres warns of chaos
UN Secretary -General António Guterres sees the world in the light of the Iran conflict at a crucial moment for the future of humanity. There is a situation in a situation “in which the direction will not only form the fate of nations, but possibly also our common future,” said Guterres for the UN Security Council in New York. You go to chaos at an amazing speed: “The expansion of this conflict can cause a fire that no one can control anymore.”

Diplomacy is the only chance to prevent this. “Let us act responsibly and together to keep the region and our world of abyss,” said Guternes. The UN Security Council with its 15 members, including the United States, is the most powerful committee of the United Nations and meets regularly to advise on crises and wars such as the escalation between Israel and Iran.

An insider said that Iran was fundamentally ready to talk to Europeans about a limitation of uranium enrichment in his nuclear program, but a reduction of zero was excluded.
