Restart – bad figures for green government work

Date:

The balance of the greens in the last government is difficult: only 28 percent were good for their government work, but 65 percent were not good. Dissatisfaction also makes the climate promotions greatly messed up by the greens: 43 percent believe that too much money has been spent. The new party leader Leonore Gewessler also has bad values.

Green Prestige subsidies such as the exchange of washing machines and dishwasher (52 percent think this is less sensible) or the promotion for folding bicycles and freight bikes (58 percent think this is less sensible).

The greens are particularly skeptical about topics that are important today: budget (14 percent good, 72 percent less good), economy (18 percent good, 71 percent less good), security (20 percent good, 68 percent less good).

More than half do not find a good choice
The fact that there is now a government without the Green thinks the clear approval of the population: 61 percent think this is positive, only 29 percent miss the Greens. And it doesn’t seem to be better: a clear majority of the Austrians (53 percent) think it is not a good idea that Leonore or Guangen should become a new Greensbaas. Only six percent believe that the greens with her at the top “absolutely” become more attractive, so even the green voters don’t have much hope for Gewessler.

Gewessler is also critical in terms of their attitude. 56 percent assess their positions for the future of Austria. This is especially important for topics that are particularly important nowadays: budget (62 percent negative), prosperity (60 percent negative) or jobs (58 percent negative).

With regard to climate policy, the Austrians have clear opinions: 70 percent reject the statement that the motto “it must apply to what it wants” during climate protection. On the other hand, 75 percent think that climate protection can only succeed if people participate. 73 percent think that the Austrian economy should not have any disadvantages in international competition due to climate protection and 70 percent that climate protection should not go so far that people lose their workplace.

The survey was commissioned by the Klima-Ngo oecolution. The Linz Market Institute conducted the study. 1052 people were interviewed.

Financing for Wiener Bobos does not promote climate protection
“The climate policy of De Groenen is not good for the climate. It is important that the climate weapons take people instead of making regulations,” said Christian Tesch, director of Oecolution. “Prestige financing for Wiener Bobos does not promote climate protection.”

David Pfarrhofer of the Market Institute adds: “Leonore Gewessler than (probably) new federal spokeswoman for the Greens still has to convince in just a quarter of Austria suspect an increase in the attractiveness of the entire party at the top.”
