“Situation unclear” – will infected teachers be in the classrooms soon?

Date:

According to top teacher representative Paul Kimberger, it is still “completely unclear” how things will continue after the end of the quarantine announced on Tuesday. There is no written information yet, neither the press conference nor the appearance of Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) in the “ZIB 2” would have clarified how schools should continue.

In any case, Kimberger is critical of the fact that in the future infected and potentially contagious people will be admitted to schools knowingly: “It is hard to imagine that infected children would sit next to their classmates and that infected teachers would teach”, said Kimberger. the teacher’s representative.

Corona quarantine falls
The corona quarantine falls on August 1, as the federal government determines by regulation. Anyone who does not feel ill is therefore allowed to leave home after a positive corona test, but is subject to traffic restrictions. This means that an FFP2 mask must be worn unless you are outside and there are no other people within two meters of each other.

Lockdowns can return
The further procedure in the autumn is regulated in the so-called variant management plan (VMP), which will be decided on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers. The VMP would be based on four scenarios, from the ideal case, where Covid-19 resembles normal respiratory disease, to the worst case, where the number of serious illnesses and deaths increases.

In the worst cases, mask requirements, event restrictions and nighttime curfews could return. The aim is to take measures as uniformly and comprehensibly as possible in all areas.
