Haselmayer in talks – sanctions against Russia: “The mood has changed!”

Date:

The Austrians have had enough of the sanctions against Russia. This is according to current studies. “The mood has changed,” said Christoph Haselmayer, political expert and pollster at the Institute for Demoscopy and Data Analysis (IFDD) on the show Krone LIVE with Jana Pasching.

At 82 percent, the majority of respondents think that we in Austria suffer from the sanctions. Many also doubt Austria’s neutrality: 67 percent of those polled do not consider our country neutral because, as an EU member, we are also in favor of sanctions against Russia.

A Puls4 survey of 7,000 respondents also found that 84 percent oppose sanctions against Russia. “These are all indicators that the mood is not just going to change, but has already changed,” says Christoph Haselmayer. Herbert Kickl is also aware of this, who is arguing for a referendum on the sanctions.

When asked to what extent there is a moral dichotomy in society, the pollster says: “No one stands up and says that the people of Ukraine are not affected.” Of course people are affected. “But when I’m used to something, like a warm house, I’m reluctant to give it up.”

Corona regulation a “complete nonsense”
According to Haselmayer, the new Corona regulation that will apply from August 1 is “a blunder” and “complete nonsense”. For example, you are allowed to swim in the pool, but only with an FFP2 mask if a 2 meter distance is not observed. “Top politicians no longer need to be surprised when research values for trust plummet.”

You can see the entire interview with Christoph Haselmayer in the video above. The Krone LIVE show can be seen on krone.tv from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am.
