Concerning the situation of the reservoirs due to the drought, the Vice-President of the Government of Navarre, Javier Remírez, has indicated that they are monitoring the situation with the hydrographic confederations, that of the Ebro and that of the Cantabrian Zee, “to take measures that do not affect the socio-economic and vital sphere of the citizen”. “However, if the weather situation is not corrected in the short term, certain measures will have to be taken,” he claimed.

This stated Remírez in an interview held today on the Radio Euskadi program ‘Boulevard’. Looking ahead to the coming weeks, “we will see what the situation is. It is not just a question of competence, in this case also the management of water resources comes into play, with the confederations, but also with the associations, the local entities competent in water management”.

“We will certainly put on the table measures that are necessary, that are proportionate and that affect the citizens as little as possible,” he added.

Regarding the convened and to date early meeting between the government of Spain and the communities related to energy measures, Remírez has said that “it is normal for there to be subsequent clarification meetings when regulation is promoted”.

In any case, the Navarrese Vice-President does not believe that there has been a lack of co-governance in taking the measures, as the Spanish government has been accused of: “There have been previous meetings, contacts, in which he has complied with the assessment subject of the communities autonomous, at least Navarre, the rules of the bill, which are aligned with the measures of the Government of Navarre”.

Regarding the lack of security that could cause the slightest illumination in the streets, Remírez assured that the “security managers in Navarra have not handed over any of that to me, we must not be alarmists, security is fully guaranteed.
