The lehendakari’s contacts began on Monday with PP+Cs and continued on Tuesday with Elkarrekin Podemos-IU and EH Bildu.
The Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, closes today the round of contacts with the parties with the PNV and the PSE-EE with representation in the Basque Parliament to analyze the situation created by the war in Ukraine and to see the possibility that their contributions could be included in the measures planned by the institutions to face it.
Urkullu started this Monday with the President of the Basque PP, Carlos Iturgaiz, continued yesterday, Tuesday, with the spokesman of Elkarrekin Podemos-IU, Miren Gorrotxategi, and the spokesman of EH Bildu, Maddalen Iriarte, and ends today with the partners of the Basque Government, PNV and PSE-EE.
PP+Cs He has asked the Lehendakari to cut taxes on families and businesses and to prepare a shock plan with the remaining treasury the Basque government has to deal with the fallout from the invasion of Ukraine.
Elkarrekin Podemos-IU He argued for a series of agreements, such as the energy agreement to reduce electricity costs and income agreements to guarantee the purchasing power of wages.
EH Picture Urkullu has proposed to create an energy bonus to compensate families with an average of 250 euros for the increase in the price of electricity and gas, and to increase the amount of social benefits, the SMI and salaries to avoid the consequences of the economy of the Ukrainian war.
These contacts are part of Urkullu’s commitment to meet every four months with representatives of the Basque parties.
All the proposals of the political groups will be discussed on Friday in the plenary session of the Basque Parliament to analyze the situation that has arisen after the invasion of Ukraine.
