The Extremaduran Javier Cienfuegoswith the 73.06 meter as the best throw, concluded the hammer final of the Munich Europeans in eleventh placein a tournament where the main favorite, the Polish Pawel Fajdekfive-time world champion, was fourth and the gold went to his countryman Wojciech Nowicki.
Hundred fires, 32, played his sixth continental outdoor event in Munich. He qualified for the final with a best throw of 73.26 meters, the last mark of the twelve classifieds.
In the final, the Extremaduran started the contest throwing 71.96. In the second launch he improved the score to 72.18 and in the third he reached 73.06, a score that prevented him from being in the top ten, although he improved one place in the final compared to the European four years ago in Berlin, where it is twelfth.
The big favorite for gold, Dear Fajdek, started with two nulls and finished with a best throw of 79.15, very far from the medals. The victory was taken by his countryman Wojciech Nowicki with 82.00.
