Lens scored in Monaco and extended its streak

Lens extended its losing streak in the French League to eleven games and contributed to Monaco’s depression, after it was eliminated from the Champions League, with a 1-4 win to take first provisional position with seven points and put pressure on Paris Saint Germain, with six and one game in hand, ahead of their visit to Lille this Sunday.

At 38 minutes, Lens led 0-2. Ikoma Lois Openda opened the scoring in the 7th minute, with a shot at the far post. In the 38th minute, Colombian Deiver Machado widened the gap to put a contest on track that was reduced to 1-2 at halftime, with a header from Benoit Badiashile after a cross from Brazilian Caio Henrique.

But the second half reaffirmed the success of Lens. A penalty converted by Seko Fofana, in the 54th minute, gave them the advantage. Sent off later, in the 72nd minute, Vanderson, in Monaco, the last 1-4 came in the last stretch, when Wesley Said increased the winner and caused his team to lead, pending the rest of the day’s results, in all Paris Saint Germain, scoring, goal for goal, the pace so far.
