What’s a guy who flies F1 cars doing in Spa?

Date:

The fans who came Spa-Francorchamps to personally see Free 3 and the classification of Belgian F1 GP this Saturday, they were hallucinating when they were surprised by something unexpected: a man flying with a propulsion device on his feet above the Formula 1 in full Eau Rouge rise and straight back. Some have shown their surprise on social networks, but far from what they might think, it’s not spontaneous or anything: it’s all part of an exhibition of the French inventor and expert on the ‘Flyboard’ frankly zapatawho had already conducted tests last Thursday on this track.

“I’ve done a lot of challenges from zero to 400 meters or in a U-turn. This is an area where I feel comfortable as a flyboarder,” Zapata said ahead of his challenge, flying in Spa with the F1s on the track.

“It accelerates very quickly and turns very well. On the other hand, over long distances, like here, with a very high top speed, I never exceed 200m/h. So it can be complicated. It is always a pleasure to fly here. I love flying on F1 circuits. The view is incredible,” he added.
