Ernesto Valverde has now satisfied Lezama with the signing of Ander Herrera. The Athletic coach already had the Bilbao midfielder under his orders during a previous spell at the rojiblanco club. The Gasteiz coach knows what this footballer can do for him, especially after going through Manchester United and PSG.
“Ander is a player we know and will help us a lot. He has experience in big teams and he knows what it takes to play to win, and he also knows ours. We are happy that he has strengthened us because he can contribute many things on and off the field”, reasoned Valverde.
The Athletic coach insisted that “his personality and way of playing can be used.
Regarding the position that Ander Herrera could occupy within the team, Valverde indicated that “he has the ability to play in different situations; but it is not the same now as when he was here a few years ago. Now he is not too young, now he has more experience” .
The Athletic coach will wait until the end of training this afternoon to see whether or not he will call up the Bilbao midfielder for tomorrow’s match against Cádiz.
