Izan Guevara took the lead in the third free practice at Misano

Date:

Izan Guevara (GasGas) rose to first place at the end of the third and final free practice session of the Moto3 San Marino Grand Prix on the “Marco Simoncelli” circuit in Misano Adriatico, ahead of the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda), who could not improve on his fastest lap, and his compatriot Stefano Nepa (KTM).

The day started with circuit conditions different from those of the first day, with a cooler asphalt and a damp one from the morning fogalthough it was not busy to shoot it quickly and among them the Spaniards Carlos Tatay (CFMoto) and Izan Guevara (GasGas), who were among the first to lower their records from the first day to place fifth and sixth. , respectively.

Like them, Turkey’s Deniz Öncü (KTM) also developed rapidly.the only driver to score points in all races held to date.

One of the first surprises of the third session was performed by the “local” Stefano Nepa (KTM), who improved his personal record to go from twelfth to second place, more than a tenth of a second behind his compatriot Dennis Foggia (Honda ), who cost him more to improve his stopwatch on the first day, with Izan Guevara “scratching” the 1000th of his time to move up to third place.

And Guevara was the star again as he climbed into the next lap to lead the classification in the category, beating Dennis Foggia by 149 thousandths of a second.

The last minute served again for a “strategic war” of the teamswith its pilots calmly waiting in their workshops until one of the category’s “fast” pilots came out and left them with about a lap launched as the goal, and the longest-waiting members were members of the Leopard squad, Dennis Foggia and the Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki, although in the end there is a real “single file” of almost all the participants in the category.

Foggia was one of the few who did not improve his time to the fastest in the category, but at least he kept the second placeahead of Stefano Nepa, Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna), Jaume Masiá (KTM), Andrea Migno (Honda), Deniz Oncü (KTM), Daniel Holgado (KTM), Ryusei Yamanaka (KTM), Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda), Sergio García Dols (GasGas), Carlos Tatay (CFMoto), John McPhee (Husqvarna) and Diogo Moreira (KTM), who moved into the second direct classification.

They did not do this and had to dispute the first classification David Muñoz (KTM), Adrián Fernández (KTM), Iván Ortolá (KTM), Xavier Artigas (CFMoto) and Ana Carrasco (KTM).
