Jorge Prado finished 3rd in the Motocross World Championship

The Spanish Jorge Prado (GasGas) the poor is closed World Championship of the queen category of motocross (MXGP) 2022 in third place, after finishing sixth in the last test of the campaign, the Turkish GPargued in afyonkarahisar.

The Galician rider, two-time universal champion in MX2, was playing for the podium with Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha) and Frenchman Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) and finally managed to achieve it after finishing seventh and fourth place in the Ottoman test.

In the general classification, Prado finished third with 589 points, eleven more than Renaux and fourteen more than Coldenhoff. Ahead, highlights, the champion in advance Tim Gajser (Honda) and the swiss Jeremy Seewer (Yamaha).

This is the best final classification of the rider from Lugo after being sixth in 2020 and fifth in 2021, while Rubén Fernández (Honda), also from Galicia, hampered by physical problems late in the season, finished eighth with 382 points.

Renaux forced the engine by winning the opening moto ahead of Seewer and Gajser, but in the second he could only finish eighth and Prado secured his podium with fourth place. Coldenhoff lost his options by making 14 and 6.

The Slovenian Gajser, without making his best attempt, managed to win the Grand Prix with Seewer and the Frenchman Romain Febvre by his side on the podium, thus putting a magnificent end to a campaign in which he added his th -four crowns in the highest category.

In MX2, Frenchman Tom Vialle (KTM) was declared world champion after winning both races ahead of his only rival for the title, Belgian Jago Geerts (Yamaha), with him finishing on top of overall standings with 758 points, four more than his opponent.
