Carlos Alcaraz earned his qualification for the US Open semifinals this Friday morning after a brilliant and epic victory over Jannik Sinner after over five hours of battle.
“I honestly still don’t know how I got it. It was an incredible match, with a great level. The sinner is an extraordinary player. Thank you for everything. I could not have achieved this without your support in difficult moments” explained the Murcian at the foot of the track.
For Alcaraz it was decisive “believe in myself all the time. Me and my game. The key is to stay calm and believe in myself.”.
Regarding his rival on Friday in the semifinals, Frances Tiafoe, the Murcian emphasized that “everyone knows his level. He beat Nadal, and now Rublev in three sets. It will be a tough match but I want to enjoy my first Grand Salm semi-final. You have to throw away the rest” he concluded.
