Robert Baptist announced in the press conference before the start of the group stage that will take place this week in Valencia that the team led by Sergi Bruguera will have to take advantage of the fact that this stage is being played in Spain.
“Playing at home is special because the Spanish fans always respond very well to the Davis Cup. We feel sheltered and animated and that it is in Valencia for me makes it even more special”, said the tennis player from Castellón.
The rest of the Spanish team (Pedro Martínez, Albert Ramos and Marcel Granollers) were also present at the press conference. except for Carlos Alcaraz, who arrived from the United States on Tuesday morning.
Martínez agreed with Bautista on the importance of playing in national territory and stressed that it is more special in Valencia, as they are both Valencians. “Certainly for me and Roberto it is another point that we will play at La Fonteta”he added.
Finally, Albert Ramos pointed out that he is happy to be here. “Spain has very good players and they called me because of Alejandro Davidovich’s injury. I am fit and if I have to play I will try to give everything for Spain”.
