The LPFF and the RFEF will continue discussing the arbitration salary tomorrow

Date:

After the mediation of Higher Sports Council (CSD), the Professional Women’s Soccer League (LPFF) and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Monday afternoon to address the indefinite strike announced by the referees on Thursday and which went into effect at the weekend, the first of the season in the First Division.

The CDS summoned the LPFF and the RFEF early in the morning to attend this afternoon, at 5:00 pm, at the Council headquarters, a meeting at demanded an “immediate settlement and permanent for a peaceful start to women’s professional competition.”

They attended the meeting Jose Manuel Franco and the CEO Albert Soler of CSD; Beatrice Alvarez of LPFF, and Andrew Camps of the RFEF, who at the same time represented the referees, all accompanied by their legal advisors.

The parties presented their positions and summoned a second meeting this Tuesday at the RFEF headquarters. Another meeting within the negotiations that started two months ago.

Until now, the differences in pay are striking. The referees set it at 50,000 euros per year, which means around 3,750 euros per match. Considering that they make a minimum of 12, it reaches a figure of 45,000 euros, which if raised to 15, halfway through the season, will reach 56,250 euros per season. This explains why they demand a sixth of an arbitrator’s salary from Men’s First Division (approximately 300,000 euros per season) and a third of a Second Division referee (145,000).

And then there is LPFF positionwho defends an annual salary between 24,000 and 27,000 euros per season regardless of diets, old etc…
