Quartararo, visited his worst circuit

Date:

Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, leader of the MotoGP world championship and current world champion, acknowledged that Motorland Aragón “is a difficult circuit”, for him the worst on the calendar, especially because of his complicated T4 for Yamaha. Since being in MotoGP, the best result is his fifth in 2019, his first visit on a big bike; in 2020 in race 1 he left pole and came in 18th and in race 2 sixth on the grid he finished eighth. Last year he qualified third and finished eighth again.

“We have always been quite fast here, although later in the race we didn’t get good results, so it will be important to see how to get better results this year,” he added.

“We have to see how we can improve in sector four and then see how the weekend goes,” explained Quartararo about the most difficult point of the track for him.

In the pieces that they tested at the Misano tests, the world leader acknowledged that they will test the new chassis. “And we will see when we can use it, but the test was very good because it brought a smile to our faces and with very positive results, although it is true that I would like to fit the 2023 engine this year, but of course it is possible, we have new chassis that I think improves in some areas and I think we will test it tomorrow in one of the practices to see how it works, I am very confident in it”.

Regarding the advantage he has accumulated in the interim World Championship with six races remaining, Fabio Quartararo acknowledged: “In the end there is a difference of thirty points, a 30 point advantage, and all I can do is try to perform as much as possible in what is left of the championship?

Quartararo acknowledged his problems on the Teruel track, although he clarified: “It’s not a question of the circuit, but rather than in the last sector there was an acceleration from first to sixth and the last corner was a bit against me, but in general I think that last year we were quite fast and now what we need to do is to understand how to reduce our problems during the race”.
