Movistar will face the “auctioneer” Alex Aranburu and the climber Einer Rubio to face the test in memory of the unforgettable “Pirate” of Cesenatico.

The Movistar team is completed by the Spaniards Jorge Arcas, Antonio Pedrero and Gorka Izagirre, the Colombian Einer Rubio -who recently took fourth place in the Tour of Tuscany-, and the American Matteo Jorgenson.

The Marco Pantani Memorial, a test that, despite its mid-mountain route in honor of one of the greatest climbers of all time, is usually resolved in a sprint minus its final circuit, takes place in the town that, ironically, seen born. in ‘Pirate’, on the coast.

The 188 km starting in Forlì include the climbs of Rocca delle Caminate, which includes 2.5 km at 6%, Pieve di Rivoschio (4 km at 6.3%) and, above all, three passes of Montevecchio (4 km at 7.5%).

Before heading to the finish line, the race will pass, with 42 kilometers to go, the cobblestones of the ‘Wall’ of Longiano (700m and 10%).
