The Ministry of Sports announced an inspection of the French Football Federation (FFF), after a magazine reported on the “toxic atmosphere” of the institution, that the president had allegedly sent sexual messages to subordinates.
The announcement came after the Sports Minister, Amélie Oudea-Casteramet this Friday with the president of FFF, Noël Le Graet, and the director general of the organization, Florence Hardouin.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that it is important that the FFF continue its activities “with full respect for all its employees, regardless of their hierarchical level, and commit themselves to combating all discrimination and violence, especially sexist and sexual” .
In its report on September 8, the sports magazine So Foot, supported by anonymous testimonies, linked Le Graet with sending messages of sexual content to three of his subordinates. For its part, the FFF filed a defamation complaint against the publication.
The internal audit will be carried out by a mission from the General Inspectorate for Education, Sports and Research.
Less than two months before the World Cup in Qatar, this scandal may cloud the atmosphere of the French team, the current world champion, which is also affected by a strange case of blackmailing one of its stars, Paul Pogba.
