Nico Terol will be the new sports director of the ‘GasGas Aspar Team’

The former pilot from Alcoy Nico Terolwho in 2011 was the last 125cc world champion, will be new sports director of the ‘GasGas Aspar Team’ from 2023informing the team.

Terol, 33 years old and until now holds the position of sports advisor in ‘Aspar Team Junior’, will replace Gino Borsoi, sports director of the team since 2006 and the destination is the Pramac team.

The team remembers that Nico Terol’s career has been linked to Jorge Martínez “Aspar” since its inception, when he debuted on minibikes in 1999 in Formula Airtel (current Cradle of Champions), who sought to train the young drivers to reach the World Cup.

Terol managed to jump to the world championship at the Valencian Community Grand Prix in 2004, which was unusual for Gino Borsoi’s team.

In 2011, after rejoining his path with Jorge Martínez “Aspar” in 2010, he became the last 125cc world champion.

Currently, and since 2017, Nico Terol is the sports advisor of Aspar Team Junior. In almost six seasons under his leadership, the team won three Moto3 Junior World Championship titles, a European Talent Cup, a Red Bull Rookies Cup title and two Spanish championships.
