Carlos Alcaraz pointed out on the court after his victory over the South Korean Soonwoo Kwon 6-4 and 7-6(1)that gave Spain the classification for the Final Phase of the Davis Cup, that although he achieved the last point, the merit belongs to the whole team and he recalled the three wins achieved by Roberto Bautista this week in Valencia.
“I am very happy with the success of all of you. I want to play in Spain, It is unique. It’s fun to win games, to qualify for the final stage. Without Rober’s points, without the support of the whole team, this would not have been possible. I gave the point but…” he explained.
At the end of November the Final Phase of the Davis Cup will be played in Malaga, where they will face Croatia in the quarterfinals.
“Until then, I have a few tournaments ahead of me. I have the ATP Masters and it’s going to be a tough two months. These are great tournaments to prepare for the final stage. I am already looking forward to playing the Davis Cup in Spain again”, he concluded.
