First defeat of Ajax and PSV, new leader

Ajax, who fell to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, lost their first Eredivisie game of the season at AZ Alkmaar (2-1) and handed the lead to PSV Eindhoven on goal difference.

The team led by Alfred Schreuder, in which former Sevilla player Lucas Ocampos played in the last eight minutes, failed to capitalize on the initial goal of Ghanaian Mohammed Kudus (m.12) and let the push of the locals, who came back by Mees de Wit (m.40) and Dane Jens Odgaard (m.50+).

Delightful classic in Eindhoven

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s PSV Eindhoven topped the table after pulling off a thrilling classic against Feyenoord (4-3) thanks to a late goal from Dutchman Armando Obispo.

Feyenoord went ahead through Idrissi (3′), Branthwaite (16′) and Gakpo (25′) from behind for PSV, but Danilo made it 2-2 before the break (42′).

In the second half the tie was maintained as Til put PSV ahead again (47′) before Kokcu made it 3-3 (73′).

PSV and Ajax lead AZ by one point and Feyenoord by two, who also suffered their first defeat of the season.
