The captain of the Spanish team Davis Cup, Sergi Bruguera, reviewed his team’s classification for the Final Phase in Malaga in a press conference and assured that he was very satisfied with the achievement of the goal and the performance of his players.
“Very happy about qualifying; goal achieved. We are qualified and number one in the group. In the three heats we competed very well. We are proud of the team’s work. Very happy with the ability to compete that we have and I hope to continue with the intensity and capacity for Malaga”, he explained.
In this Final Phase of Malaga, Spain will face Croatia in the quarter-final tie and regarding the Balkan team, Bruguera pointed out that “all the remaining teams are already very strong. Croatia has two players like Cilic, one of the best ‘indoors’, and Coric, who is playing his best year and won in Cincinnati. He also has very good doubles. It will be a very tough tie,” he concluded.
