In other games played behind closed doors due to the passage of Typhoon Nanmadol in Tokyo, the Mexican Fernanda Contreras Gómez defeated 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin, 7-6 (7) and 6-4and China’s Zhang Shuai defeated Japan’s Mai Hontama, 6-0, 6-3.
