Rest of the World, to avoid losing the Presidents Cup in Charlotte

The Quail Hollow Club (Par 71), in Charlotte accepted from Thursday to Sunday Presidents Cupa test of the image and likeness of the Ryder Cup, which is disputed USA and Rest of the World (except Europe). The international team’s only victory came in 1998, while both teams drew in 2003. As LIV Golf players were ineligible for the event, a record 14 players will make the their Presidents Cup debut. This includes eight in the international team, which also features a record five Asian players.

These are the two youngest teams in Presidents Cup history: the international averages 28.8 years and the American team, 29.6 years. Only two players from each team have competed in multiple past Presidents Cups. For the United States, Justin Thomas won the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, while Max Homa won the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship at this course.

The game format will be 30 games over five sessions, all worth 1 point for the winner and 1/2 point for each team in the event of a tie. The competition starts with five Foursome matches this Thursday, followed by five Fourballs on Friday. On Saturday there will be four Foursome games in the morning and four Fourball games in the afternoon. The event concludes with 12 singles matches on Sunday. If the teams are tied on points after Sunday’s individual matches, they will play in the Presidents Cup.
