LaLiga denounces 24 episodes of verbal abuse in the Metropolitan derby

Date:

The voluminous letter sent to the Anti-Violence Commission addresses the 2,000 Athletic Front fans who primarily harassed Vinicius and also includes the cries of “fucking Indian!” pronounced by Real Madrid fans

LaLiga has reported to the Anti-Violence Commission up to 24 episodes of fan chants that took place on the occasion of Madrid’s latest derby at the Metropolitano and have been labeled violent, racist, xenophobic or intolerant under sports law. The most innovative is that the body chaired by Javier Tebas focuses on the Atlético Front, comes to acquit the rojiblanco club in terms of security measures and gives a new piece of information: repeatedly, from the area where the Real Madrid supporters were located, “Indian fucker” insults directed at the locals were also made.

The club’s management has detailed almost to the minute all the insults that have taken place in the mattress kingdom and the surrounding area. The most infamous occurred at the arrival of the bus carrying Real Madrid’s expedition to the stadium. At the time, according to the LaLiga informant, “some 500 local fans who were in the players’ area of the stadium sang the following song: ‘You’re a monkey, Vinicius you’re a monkey!”. body chaired by Tebas that Atlético issued a statement this Tuesday “outright condemning the inadmissible chants uttered by a minority of fans outside the stadium”.

Likewise, it says the security device was correct, the usual for high-risk matches. Preventive searches at the entrance doors to the stadium, “with particular reference to the entrance doors of the South Fund”, where the radicals of the Athletic Front are located and an area “reinforced by the club with a large number of private security guards”. There was also a wide range of officers around the perimeter of the field, the area near the benches and the locker room tunnel.

In addition, dog handlers of the national police and the club’s private security company were seen at various places in the stadium in the run-up to and during the match. The National Police deployed a drone to support ground units during the operation and security was strengthened in the access area for visiting fans.

Already during the game, the record prepared by LaLiga contains a long list of insults uttered by some 2,000 fans from the South Fund area, except for the 88th minute, when “almost all fans present called the ‘madridistas, sons of puta ‘ sustained, intoned in a chorus and coordinated manner for about 10 seconds».

Among the offensive chants, LaLiga cites some that stand out for being unpresentable. From the execreble ¡Vinicius, muérete!, to the well-known “fool, fool”, addressed to the Brazilian, the “Courtois is not a goalkeeper, he is a comedian” or “jump, jump little kangaroo and the Madridistas who fuck put them on !”

Among the classic barbarities of the Atlético Front, two stanzas were repeated in every derby: «I only ask God that the fuleros die, that they die slowly, madridista bastards»; and «the plague is coming, the madridista is coming with those horns that are obvious. The madridista, motherfucker, the Athletic Front enjoys it with its death, oo oo, oo oo».

According to LaLiga, from the upper bleachers of the north end, about 225 Real Madrid fans also shouted in a chorus and coordinated manner for about 10 seconds, “Fucking Indian who doesn’t bounce eh, eh!”. An expression with xenophobic undertones towards Atlético’s South Americans, although it is common for fans of both teams to popularly refer to themselves as Indians and Vikings and is even Atlético’s official mascot ‘Indy’.

The employer’s report also shows that in the 17th minute of the game, a lighter and several empty bottles were thrown onto the playing field from the south stands occupied by local fans without hitting a player. The lighter was picked up by the referee and handed over to the team representative and play was not resumed until the stadium’s public address system requested that no objects be thrown.
