Italian Lorenzo Sonego defeated Kazakh Aleksandr Bublik on Sunday 7-6 6-2 to win the ATP 250 in Metz and thereby claim his third professional title. However, Lorenzo was not central to this fight, and it was his rival who went viral with a point attempt in a very dangerous moment in the final that many still do not understand.

});
Sonego prevailed in the first set in the tie break, and in the second set, when he had a 3-1 lead and was one point away from an almost certain 1-4, he was surprised by a strike from Bublik that was completely surreal. Going up to the net, the Kazakh decided to turn his racket and instead of taking it by the handle, do it by the frame and strings with both hands and hit the ball with the ‘grip’. Logically, it was a bad idea and Sonego was able to return that cross blow due to lack of strength. The Italian responded with a sliced backhand that Bublik missed. So he took the 1-4 and put the clash on track.
Many Twitter users shared this point showing their surprise and incomprehension of what Bublik was trying to do as this was not an exhibition match but an ATP final.
