Guevara: “There are four races left, but I will not change my position”

Date:

It’s Guevara (GasGas) is mathematically proclaimed champion of the Moto3 world in Australia, but nevertheless he did not throw away the bells so quickly because “There are four races left, but -he warned- I will not change my position for anyone”.

“I don’t know how many points I have to leave in Thailandbut I know that I have to keep 50 points,” said Guevara, clarifying that in Thailand he must lose by no more than 19 points and then stressing that “it’s true, it’s doable, unless we fall and Sergio is first.” But he immediately clarified: “Yes, but I hope that doesn’t happen.”

“Now I’m pretty strong and I always come out very motivated in the race and I don’t mind pulling the front group, the truth is that I do free practice for that, so that I have a smaller chance that another rider will take me to the ground and risk less, so yes, you could say that now I feel very strong and the truth is that it does not help us to achieve our goal”, explained the GasGas rider.

From his career in Japan I have no hesitation in acknowledging that “The key, first of all, is to make a good start, and then everything came on its own, because I was overtaking one by the curve and it is not difficult or a challenge for me that I can go to the ground. The truth is that I advanced very cleanly and safely”.

Guevara did not doubt that he had been thinking about the title “for a long time, since the beginning of the season, where I thought we could fight for the title and we achieved it.”

The world championship leader, who does not know any of the circuits where he will have to compete in this trip to Asia, has so far identified what worries him the most. “More rain than circuits, but hey, if it rains then let’s learn and get as many points as possible, after all; If it’s dry, I know we can, yes or yes, we’ll fight, I don’t know if we’ll run away but I know if we’ll fight”.

From your colleague Sergio Garcia Dolls they said “be a team and have respect between us, we played a world title between him and me in the team and after all we are rivals“, to emphasize that their relationship was normal, although he recalled that their “touch” last year “came from the Aragón race. We had a bit of a scuffle, but everything is back to normal.”

And then he remembered that this year “in Austria it happened to me twice that he did it quite fair and I had to lift the bike, but after all we are in a race and those things are can occur in certain overtaking” .
