MotoGP will race in India in 2023

The MotoGP World Championship has announced that it will have an exam in the year 2023 on Buddha International Circuitin Indian Grand Prix.

The MotoGP is coming to India, a true economic and cultural powerhouse, with a population of more than 1,400 million people and more than 200 million motorcycles on its roads. Two-wheelers account for nearly 75% of the total number of vehicles in daily use, making India one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world and a hotspot for manufacturers in the motorcycle paddock. The races will be held at Buddha International Circuit, located in Uttar Pradesh, south of New Delhi. This agreement represents a great help for the MotoGP expansion project at different points of the same.

Anurag Thakur, Union Sports Minister of the Government of India, was very happy with the agreement. “This is a historic day for the sports industry and a tribute to the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence celebrations”, he celebrated.

The same pleasure was shared by Carmelo EzpeletaCEO of Dorna. “We are very proud to announce that the Buddh International Circuit will be on the 2023 calendar. We have a lot of fans in India and we are excited to bring our sport closer to them,” he said. “India is also a major market for the motorcycle industry. and thus, by extension, to MotoGP as the pinnacle of the two-wheeled world. We are very much looking forward to competing in the Buddh International Circuit.”
