Vlahovic seals the return of Juventus

Date:

A goal from Dusan Vlahovic allowed Juventus to seal the comeback against Cagliari on Saturday (1-2). Thanks to the Serbian striker, Massimiliano Allegri’s team achieved a victory that was crucial for all their goals. Juve remain fourth in the Serie A table, four points behind Inter, who also won on Saturday (2-0 against Verona) and Napoli (hosting Fiorentina this Sunday). Cagliari now has five consecutive defeats and 17th, three points from relegation.

The night started well for Cagliari, who took the lead in the 10th minute when Joao Pedro scored, who controlled the ball with his right foot (assisted by Razvan Marin) and scored surprisingly on the Juventus defense.

Luca Pellegrini had a goal disallowed due to offside in the 22nd minute. Cragno, goalkeeper for the Sardinian team, is brilliant. And the ‘vecchia signora’ will have to wait until the first half discount to level the score. Matthijs de Ligt made it 1-1. The former Ajax defender scored with a header that took advantage of the beautiful ball sent to him by Juan Cuadrado.

The fact is that, after the break, Juventus had a hard time deciding on the match in their favor against a Cagliari team that was unable to manage their advantage and no longer barely created on an offensive level. But Allegri’s staff also didn’t take advantage of their chances and are still on the scoreboard 1-1.

Until the 75th minute, Vlahovic scored the goal and recorded the victory for Juventus. Of course, black and white failed to extend their advantage, so uncertainty remained until the very end.

Juventus got 8 points from its immediate rival in the fight for fourth place in the Champions League, José Mourinho’s Roma, who host Salernitana on Sunday.
