The Vienna -pride starts on Saturday from noon, and here too the victims of Graz are recognized. Because before it gets loud, it is quiet.
For the 29th time, the rainbow parade, as always, moves on the ring road, as always, against the direction of traveling. Prove together for acceptance, respect and equal rights in Austria, Europe and all over the world. But much is different this year.
In memory of the victims of the terrible murderous Spree in Graz, the otherwise colorful parade this time starts in silence – without music and dance. “We call on all participants to show our sympathy behind parliament without music, without jubilation, like a calm memorial,” says organizers. A black funeral flower will decorate all signs of the participating groups of the parade. A mourning banner must be laid down for parliament.
There will also be a lot of political fame: Vice -Chancellor Andreas Babler, Minister of Women Eva Holzleitner, municipal councilor Ulli Sima (All Spö) and vice -mayor Bettina Emmerling (Neos) are also expected.
Delays in road traffic
Appropriate delays can be expected due to the hours of ring lock. The first ring lock started at 8:30 am between Operergasse and Scot Gass, the Parade itself starts at noon. In the RathauSplatz and will return to parliament, opera, Urania, along the Franz-Josefs-Kais, the stock exchange and university back to the RathauSplatz, where it should arrive between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The last event ends around 10.30 am. Differences are possible, depending on the course of the parade. Tram lines 1, 2, 71 and D, as well as bus lines in the inner cities are briefly executed or diverted.
