Alex Berenguer has the same number of goals in this start of the League as he has achieved in the entire last complete edition. Navarrese, who in the year of his arrival at Athletic, was proclaimed as the team’s top scorer in the domestic tournament with eight goals, scored only three goals in his second season. Against Valencia, Cádiz and Elche, however, he has already scored in the current championship.
The ‘rojiblanco’ winger recently clarified that “last year I had a small tumor. I blocked myself from obsessing over goals. This year I played without pressure and now they are coming in”.
When asked how he was able to unblock such a complicated situation, Berenguer publicly commented that “we have a very good professional on the team, the psychologist José Carrascosa. It helps me a lot not to think. I don’t have to obsess here. Things are coming this year, I’m really enjoying playing football. I’m taking it normally.
