Ang Circuit of Jerez-Ángel Nieto will host from this Monday and for three days the second pre-season training session of the MotoE World Cupafter those made on the same route last March.
The teams participating in this electric motorcycle competition will conduct the final preparatory tests until Wednesday, before the start of the world championship, which is scheduled for the first weekend of May, in conjunction with the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix which held at the Jerez circuit, the organization reported.
The MotoGP World Cup for the premier class, in addition to Moto2 and Moto3, will feature twenty-one grand prix, while the MotoE World Cup will visit only seven circuits, where fourteen races will be held.
The current world champion in the specialty of electric motorcycles is the Spanish Jorge Torreswho will defend the title won last season and will try to capture his third title after the achievements in 2020 and 2021.
The other Spaniard who was in Jerez in March in the first pre-season training sessions for this event was Toledo Mary Herrera (Openbank) and his colleagues Marc Alcoba; Hector Garzo and Alex Escrig (Tech 3); Xavi Fores (Octo Pramac); Xavier Cardelus (Avintia); Y Michael Pons (CSF).
One of the new things in the coming season is the celebration of two Grand Prix races, in addition to implementing a classification with Q2 and Q1 similar to that of MotoGP.
After the test in Jerez, scheduled from April 30 to May 1, the MotoE calendar will have the next appointments with the French and Italian GPs, in May; in June the GP of the Netherlands; in July the Finnish GP; in August the Austrian GP; and in September the San Marino GP, where the event will end.
