Thousands of Betis fans colored the streets of Verdiblanco this Thursday Romeas nearly 5,000 traveled to the Italian capital to attend the clash on the third day of European League in between Real Betis and the AS Rome at the OIímpico Stadium, with the lead of Group C at stake.
In places synonymous with the Colosseum, the Pantheon or Saint Peter’s Square hundreds of Betic shirts were seen throughout the morning and in the early afternoon most of them gathered in the central Piazza del Popolo to enjoy the atmosphere and walk together at the Olympic stadium, where around 65,000 spectators will gather this Thursday night, as the seats sold for the match are almost sold out.
In the morning, Manuel Pellegrini and the players went out for a walk in the streets of Rome and did not stop to take pictures with the many fans who asked them, as did the president Ángel Haro and the vice president José Miguel López Catalán, who after visiting in the most famous places in Rome and the Vatican City came to the Piazza del Popolo to share the atmosphere with the fans.
As a unique detail, it should be noted that the Real Betis captain’s armband at the Olympic, which Joaquín will definitely wear -who on Wednesday broke audience records in his new television program ‘El Novato’- is dedicated to the Roman emperor Hadrian, who was born in Betica (now Andalusia), certainly in Itálica, in Santiponce, a town very close to Seville.
