Gladbach beat Cologne in the Rhine derby

Date:

Borussia Mönchengladbach again met with victory (5-2) driven by the misfortune of Cologne, who late in the first half lost a player due to expulsion and conceded a penalty against what turned out to be a Rhine derby.

The three points are provincial for Daniel Farke’s team, which is located in the European zone of the Bundesliga where it is far away from its opponent.

The shock wore off after half an hour. In the 27th minute, Marvin Friedrich put Gladbach ahead after receiving the ball from Jonas Hofmann, one who clearly understands his team’s attacking game.

But after four, a foul inside the box on Florian Kainz was called for a penalty. The Austrian managed to execute a shot that went past the Swiss Yann Sommer.

The key move

With equality the party reached the added time of the first half where everything changed. Kainz made a mistake. His action in his place led to his second yellow card where he had to leave Colonia with ten players. In addition, lack means a penalty against. Algerian Ramy Bonsebaini scored 2-1.

Down in the whole second part, the Colonia was not rebuilt. Borussia took advantage, scoring a third in the 47th minute thanks to Lars Stindl. The fourth came from the boot of Ramy Bensebaini, who finished off a pass, again, from Jonas Hofmann.

In the craziness of the game, Colonia made the score. He scored the second goal, the work of Denis Huseinbasic, although a play by Alessane Plea past Marcus Thuram wrapped up Borussia Monchengladbach’s win.
