Lyon revealed on Sunday night what has been an open secret for the past few hours: the replacement of Peter Bosz on the bench and the appointment of Laurent Blanc in his place. At 56 years old, the former Barça central defender has signed a contract until June 2024.

Lyon’s poor start to the campaign (they have lost four and drawn one of their last five Ligue 1 games) and the coach’s disagreement with half the dressing room has led to an unsustainable situation.

According to RMC Sport, “the departure of the coach (Bosz) was recorded on Saturday afternoon in a meeting with the management of Lyon.”

Laurent Blanc, free contract since he was fired from Qatari club Al-Rayyan in February. According to L’Equipe, the 1998 world champions have been in negotiations with Lyon for several days.

In just six seasons as Ligue1 coach, three at Bordeaux (2007-10) and as many at PSG (2013-16), the former defender, who played In Napoli, Marseille, FC Barcelona and Manchester United, he has built an impressive career, with four Ligue 1 titles.
