The Kenyan marathoner Philemon Kacheran Lokedi, third in the Valencia marathon with a time of 2:05:19 in December, has been suspended for three years for doping of the Athletics Integrity Unit (IAU).
The punishment, that due to a positive test for testosterone of exogenous origin in an out-of-competition control carried out in Kapenguria (Kenya) on April 27will take effect retroactively on July 8, 2022, the IAU specified in a statement.
The athlete, explains the IAU, there is no therapeutic use exemption and its lack is recognized, its consequences are acceptedTherefore, the benefit of the reduction of one year with respect to the four years of punishment provided for similar cases in the anti-doping regulations is applied.
