FIFA will pay clubs that loan out players to the World Cup

Date:

The clubs that from next November 14 will provide their players to the teams for the World Cup in Qatar will have financial compensation.

This was just communicated by FIFA to all national federations in a circular where FIFA announced that, as in the 2018 Russia World Cup, it is also launching the Club Aid Program on the occasion of the Qatar World Cup. A portion of the tournament proceeds will go to the member associations, who will in turn share the proceeds with their affiliated clubs helping to organize the tournament successfully. In other words, the RFEF in Spain will be responsible for distributing these amounts to Spanish clubs. The Club Aid Program is part of a broad cooperation agreement between FIFA and the European Club Association (ECA). It was originally created for the 2010 World Cup and, in 2015, it was expanded to include the World Cups of the previous 2018 and the upcoming one in Qatar.

The amount assigned by FIFA in this regard is 209 million dollars (215 million euros). This is a gross figure, that is, without deduction of taxes and expenses.

The clubs in the last two years before the World Cup

It assumes a payment of around 10,200 euros for each day that its players are under the discipline of their National Team during the next World Cup in Qatar. This payment will be received by the clubs where the player has played in the two years prior to the appointment in Qatar.

As a novelty compared to the previous editions of the tournament, the 2022 Qatar Club Aid Program will be mostly processed on the FIFA Professional Football Platform, where general information about the program can be accessed; and also a digital application form that must be filled out and signed by each club that wants to participate in the program.
