The Government of Ecuador guaranteed this Wednesday an extensive security procedure for the final of the Copa Libertadores de América, which will take place on the 29 October in Guayaquil between the Brazilian teams Athletico Paranaense and Flamengo.
The government’s announcement was made after a meeting between the Ecuadorian president, William Lasso, and the highest representative of Conmebol, Alexander Dominguezthe Ministry of Sport reported in a statement.
The final of the Libertadores will be played at the “Isidro Romero” Monumental stadium, owned by the Barcelona de Guayaquil club, with a capacity of approximately 60,000 seats.
The Ministry of Sports specified that the meeting between Lasso and Domínguez also included other government authorities that are part of several “technical tables” or planning units in charge of the development of “the most important soccer event in South America.”
