the brazilian Diogo Moreira (KTM) was the class leader on his last lap of first free practice of the Moto3 Australian Grand Prix at the Phillip Island circuit, which until then was led by “local” rider Joel Kelso (KTM).

Moreira (KTM) set the best time for the category 1:39.773, beating the Italian by just 57 thousandths of a second Dennis Foggia (Honda) and with Spanish Sergio Garcia Dolls (GasGas), third.
When they finished Joel Kelso and Tatsuki Suzukiwith the Daniel Holgado (KTM) in sixth place, world leader eighth, beating the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna) and Turkish Deniz Oncu (KTM), in front of Carlos Dad (CFMoto), eleventh, Jaume Masia (KTM), Andrea Migno (slingshot) and David Munoz (KTM), which will be the first fourteen classified, with the right to be included in the second direct classification.
The Spanish Xavier Artigas (CFMoto) finished in nineteenth position, Ivan Ortola (KTM), twenty one, Adrian Fernandez (KTM), twenty-fourth, and Anna Carrasco (KTM), twenty-sixth.
