Rory McIlroy produces a moment of magic to end the Masters’ stunning final round

Date:

Rory McIlroy finished off the Masters Tour with a stunning shot on Sunday when he hit the lowest point in last-round history in August.

Round 64 of Hollywood Golf was just a record success on the course and the second lowest of any major tournament.

It was also the only round that the Bohemians did not have on any golf course during the week.

McIlroy finished the round with a great vault shot that ended up in a birdie’s pit.

The 32-year-old started his tour with a perfect start with a birdie in the first, while in the second he destroyed a 376-yard fairway, throwing it into the bunker and unable to get up and down.

But he corrected his mistake by placing another, four-thirds of the green and two birds.

He dispersed the fourth, fifth, and sixth birds, followed by the seventh and eighth birds.

He missed the jumper’s good opportunity in ninth, but changed his technique to tenth, improving the rear of the chip to a four.

McIlroy then finished Eagle fifth in 13th and finished seventh under the round, meaning the Route 63 record – held by Nick Price and Greg Norman – was a realistic target.

He completed his tour in spectacular fashion, going from 18 to the bunker before heading to Altaïr for a wild party.

“This tournament never stops as exciting and happy as it always has been on the golf course,” McIlroy said 64 years later.

He felt his peers would be “a little shorter,” but added, “I did so well and couldn’t ask for more of me.”

Hundreds of thousands watched the 18-year-old snap on the Internet, as fans united in praise.

“He’s not going to win, but he has to believe that going into this last round will give Rory McIlroy a lot of confidence in the rest of the majority this year,” Jacob Kisamore wrote on Twitter.

“One of the best things about watching sports is loading Rory McIlroy on the golf course,” added Bebo McCalough.

Unfortunately for McIlroy and the rest of the crew, world number one Scott Scheffler wasn’t a failure on the final day as he headed toward the Glory Masters.
